Monte Valentino is in a unique position for anyone who is crossing the Valle del Carpina between Gubbio and Città di Castello. The hilltop affords a very beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. It has not always been a village: in days gone by it was used for defensive purposes and was the residence of nobles such as the Montefeltro family.
In the warmer seasons, those who wish to rest and promote wellbeing can enjoy the swimming pool which gives you the impression of being ’on top of the world’. More strenuous activities include cycling and archery. There are many tracks for those who enjoy walking. Visitors will also find easy access to places in Tuscany and in the Marches as well as in Umbria. Monte Valentino has played a big part in the lives of Fabrizia Polchi, originally from Rome, and Nicola who is Umbrian. What began as a dream became an engrossing pastime. It led to their setting up house, a meeting point and a place of work, the azienda, the management of 2 agriturismo businesses – the eponymous Monte Valentino and the house which is closer to Pietralunga named Cai Burroni – and of course the production of the Sollucchero di Monte Valentino.
